While a gasoline ban makes sense in urban areas, a blanket province-wide ban on gasoline vehicles does not seem practical or reasonable given Quebec's geography and climate.
EV technology currently isn't good enough to be workable for the small minority of Quebecers who live in isolated areas with very cold winters. EV batteries don't like the cold and much of Quebec gets very cold indeed.
The idea of banning gas cars 15 years from now is silly. If we aren’t capable they’ll just change the law.
If everyone had an attainable 5 year goal, that would accelerate the change now. Then another new goal after that.
The market will take care of the rest.
Everyone being major countries of the world.
Let’s get 50 million EV’s on the road in 5 years.
> Size won't matter, as the ban will target small cars, SUVs, vans and pick-up trucks that are for personal use.
If electric vehicles are the future, then why does the ban only apply to "personal use" vehicle ?
