This post by Matt Holford made me think a lot of about group dynamics in technical meetings. I think that what often helps to create a safe environment is asking questions around confidence level, understanding alternative cost, and data that could prove the opposite. For example, asking "if we are wrong, how will we know?" could generate a discussion around what to measure and how can we build confidence in the current path.
