Ask HN: What's Happening with MIT's Covid Cough Detection App?

2 pointsby danicgrossover 4 years ago
A few weeks ago there was much discussion about a model that had powerful accuracy at detecting both symptomatics and asymptomatics by forcing a cough. Does anyone know what the latest is? And if/when it'll be released? If they need help, etc?
Strikes me this is at least as important as a vaccine, assuming the numbers hold up with a balanced dataset.
[1] https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/9208795/authors

What happened to the people who yet again believed MITs PR lies?
Moved onto the next dopamine hit no doubt. With zero repercussions for MIT.
It's good you are following it up. I recommend you put a reminder in the calendar to see in one years time how MIT behaved in a deadly pandemic.

I don't see any future path for this project. It looks like it was just a researcher project that was published and got some press, not something that could actually be turned into a product.

How could that possibly be accurate?
