Let me preface this by saying that I do not think it is likely that advanced alien life has visited Earth, but that the odds of this seem higher today than they did a year ago.
In April, the Pentagon released videos of UFO sightings[1]. Since then, we have learned that the Pentagon has a UFO task force[2]. A Pentagon defense contractor even gave a DOD briefing this year claiming that the government is in possession of "off-world vehicles"[3].
What does HN make of this?
[1] https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/28/us/pentagon-ufo-videos.html
[2] https://www.nytimes.com/2020/07/23/us/politics/pentagon-ufo-harry-reid-navy.html
[3] https://nymag.com/intelligencer/2020/07/ufo-report-pentagon-has-off-world-vehicles-not-from-earth.html
My first thought was Loon. Or whatever X or some shenanigans by random moonshot companies.
Having said that, I wouldn’t be terribly surprised if there are indeed off earth visitations by alien life forms.
It made me want to read up on ancient mythologies ..starting with Sumerian

When I came across this stuff in 2019, the question of whether or not it was real or not really bothered me for about a month. I wondered: if this is real, why seek to discover new science and apply it to human problems if it's already been discovered elsewhere by others? Will they tell us how to unify QM and relativity? Why can't I see them myself?
After looking into this stuff for the past 18 months, I'm now about 85-90% certain that there are aliens we haven't been told about yet.
There is a possibility that this might be wrong. I do not especially care what most people think of me.
