Given the results of software patents poll (http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=2552740) i wonder, if copyright poll results will be completely different.
I think we should have fixed-term copyrights rather than life-plus copyrights. The life-plus approach made sense when authors' retirements were funded by ongoing royalties, but in the 21st century we have authors selling their rights, pension funds, life annuities, et cetera, all of which make such an approach obsolete.
