Ask HN: How do you balance between learning and working?

3 pointsby robinrheemover 4 years ago
Learning as in getting familiar with new technologies, revisiting the basics, things other than tech like soft skills, communication, sales, business, general health, psychology, etc. Work as in just doing your day job, applying your learnings, side projects, etc.

A new "learning" collaborates with the improvement of "work", but the problem is having "time" to study, and still studying something that will really bring a return on investment. We have a basic triad where we spend our "time": "studying", "working" or "resting" (other activities). If I dedicate time to work, my study and rest will suffer. This occurs with the other factors: dedicating to learning harms work and rest ... The point is: choose something important to learn that can change your life to have better quality work and more time to rest.
