Presumably the company that operates these satellites has to comply with more than just "space law" though, right? Could you not still be compelled to go to "earth prison" wherever you're incorporated?

The idea here is a mesh network in space with servers orbiting the planet. The idea being, that it is not under any jurisdiction. And hence cannot be blocked. Well, not really. First the company that operates this is subject to the jurisdiction of the country it is incorporated in and does business in. Second, to access such mesh networks requires that you have hardware (essentially a satellite phone modem) that can reach it. In india, for example, the sale or posession of such hardware without a license is illegal. Finally, you piss off the big guys (US, China, Russia, India) and they can simply shoot your satellite(s) down.

This is very interesting. I would love to understand how cryptocurrency and blockchain will continue to evolve. I did not realize that there are efforts to put them in space, outside of the "big guys" jurisdiction. What is a Space Law? Is it similar to the Maritime Law?
