&quot;hate&quot; is a strong word. I dont see any reason a well-intentioned, upbeat engineer can&#x27;t simultaneously appreciate and loath a legacy codebase they are being remunerated to maintain.<p>Sure, it solved&#x2F;solves a lot of problems, exterior to those that maintain it. To those that maintain it, it probably causes untold suffering (tongue in cheek - unless many 2am pager duty calls result from it)
