Ask HN: Jan 12th has past and I still need to use Flash. What are my options?

3 pointsby AaronNewcomerover 4 years ago
I still need to use Flash on a particular government website. What options do I have now that Flash player is actively blocking content.
I am comfortable with loading an old version in a VM, or having a stand alone browser that it works on. Any suggestions to tide me over until the website is updated?

My physics professor uses flash games to demonstrate the things we are learning. He knows nothing about computers, still runs windows 7, and constantly talks about these programs and how they will always be great learning tools. I don't think he realizes that flash isnt a thing anymore and I'm excited to see how class goes when he tries to open one of his examples.

Have you tried Ruffle? https://ruffle.rs/
