Brings a lot of 20 year old memories....<p>3rd Voice, Gooey, Webby/Cahoots, ICQ Surf, Zadu, Odigo, MessageVine. At some point in mid 2000, there were approximately 40 different services providing “comment on page”, “chat on page”, “meet on page” etc. (they all had slightly different angles but generally did what sidebar does).
A little side project I built (Web + Chrome browser extension). The extension creates a way to comment on all web pages, highlight text, or you can simply bookmark. All public posts are searchable and you get your own shareable profile page of publicly "liked" links.
is it yet an other service-as-a-software-substitution which demands registration and you post your comments and get others' updates via a cerntralized service which easily censors/tracks you? or is it a decentralized solution?
