This is such a fallacious / purposely poorly-scoped scenario designed to inflame amateur internet moral philosophers (or journalists).<p>Self-driving cars operate according to the rules of the road. They won't be deviating from their lane to choose which pedestrian is better to hit or not. You brake, stay in your lane, or at worst go where the physics takes you after braking.<p>To try to turn this into some trolley problem is to not understand how the thing works. Or worse, to try to manufacture some moral crisis for empty speculation entertainment at the moment.
