Throughout the technology hype cycle, different tech stacks will be promoted as the 'cool new paradigm', such as a JAMstack with a NoSQL backend being seen as 'modern' or 'scalable' compared to a Microsoft SQL server w/ a PHP or ASP.net backend.<p>However, I think people put more stress on themselves and bloat their code by building apps to a tech stack, rather than choosing the correct tech stack for their objectives. If Microsoft SQL and ASP.net backend are the most natural fit for your application, go with that. It doesn't matter how 'outdated' it is in the trend cycle, as long as it is maintained and works for you.
