The headline (and article) are confusing. As far as I can tell, what is actually happening is that Kubernetes is dropping support for using Docker with Kubernetes. Docker itself is not produced by the same group as Kubernetes and Docker will continue to be developed. The headline makes it sound like Docker itself is being discontinued and that it is Kubernetes who made that decision. The article is a bit more clear but only somewhat.
