So I woke up this morning hearing this on the radio and it honestly really disgusted me.
I have been an internet user since 1992 and have been actively developing websites, apps and software for it since about 1998.
My affection for the internet now though is hanging by a very thin thread. Where as I was for privacy, I am now re-evaluating the level of anonymity that should be allowed online.
These people wouldn't shout insults in a crowd.
The way people use the internet has changed and I believe that companies like Facebook, Twitter, IG should have to apply for a license to operate. They aren't doing enough to protect good people from malicious narrow-minded people who bully others for fun. Another idea would be to not let users instantly send a message to others - give it a 24 hour delay and allow the sender to revoke what they have said after they have had a think about it.
Rant over. I might need a 24 hour delay!
