Just found out that Oura (a company that produces a smart ring to track key health indicators) launched a business solution that lets employers track their team's health.
link: https://get.ouraring.com/forbusiness
I've been a huge fan of Oura and own a ring myself. The ring tracks very private data such as activity, resting heart rate, HRV and more. I love using it personally but would not want anyone to know about my data.
This move feels Brave-New-World-ish where your manager will point out to you that you've been drinking this weekend and haven't exercised enough in the past month (just look at the screenshots on the landing page).
Would love to discuss the pro's/con's of this as I'm starting to feel like I gave money to the wrong company.
Would never do this for an employer. They would see me make an exit super fast. If they offer it as optional "with incentives" tied to it, I'd leave as well.
We def need to push back against the Orwellian trends
