Seems like it avoids many of the downsides of domehomes: just make it so large you can build a regular home inside, and then you have non-leaky interior roofs, normal rectangular rooms, normal construction methods for the interior house & since the dome is just weatherproofing you can use large military/commercial dome designs presumably, etc. (That you're now quasi-indoors in a greenhouse is then a feature rather than a bug in the Arctic Circle.)
