I am a health care (Business/Technology) consultant. I am trying to see where in the chain (Provider, Network, PBMs, Insurers) the fat deposit occurs - an am not able to have clear visibility. I would like to do something about it. $2000 USD premium per month per family is really really insane, for insurance. I understand law of large numbers but how to wring the fat out of system? Any thoughts?
The middle-men making the profits have no incentive to disclose this -- my guess it's the for-profit insurers optimizing what they bring in versus actually spending money on healthcare...<p>It's an interesting problem for sure, but until voters get the will to abolish the current system by voting for changes in laws and regulations, I don't see any of that changing anytime soon. The lobbies will never allow it...
