good[1] reason to categorically block any app hosted or controlled by a Chinese company.
The narrative in the West has to change from "China is bad because they blocked our apps" to "Let's take active measures until they agree to the rules". We shouldn't wait for news like this but make sure we break them as "China blocked from Western Internet access due to human rights concerns"
If this sounds unfair, China does business unhindered outside its territory, while it restricts foreign companies, blocks services, steals our IP and trade-secrets. And we let them impose restrictions.
The alternative that works in our favor should be economic sanctions against individual party members in China, and reclaim the ground the West will otherwise lose. Seems we learned nothing from the Clinton administrations foreign policy mistakes with the DPRK. And if demands are not met then kinetic war should be justified (better than confronting an adversary before they become too dangerous).
[1] in addition to breaking their agreement on Hong Kong, the Uyghur genocide, illegal logging across Asian primal forests, torture of animals for entertainment, and otherwise a total disregard for nature and other countries land and sovereignty.
