Standard tactic: delay enforcement for ~1 yr to let the publicity die down, but carry on with the plan on a slight delay. <i>&quot;We know you all hate this idea, but we think that what you really hate is the fact we sprang it on you with no warning. We&#x27;re still doing to do it eventually though.&quot;</i><p>I almost have to admire it. As a society we have distressingly short memories.

This obsession with making EVERYTHING a service is killing technology in so many ways.<p>This device could and should operate fine with an offline application run locally on a computer. Support that, add extra incentives for the cloud services, and call it a day.
