Ask HN: How does Google save passwords securely?

1 pointsby pilomabout 4 years ago
I'm having an argument with a colleague about password managers and we got hung up on if Google's Password Manager can be as safe as a dedicated online one like 1Password or LastPass. In particular, can a disgruntled Google Employee look at my passwords? I'm fairly certain that with another service where I'm the only one with the password to my vault, an employee theoretically shouldn't be able to get a password. Has Google published anything about how they store password vaults?
