I used to love DO. It was like 3 clicks to set up a VPS. You paid $5/month. Then they started adding support for object store, managed databases, projects, etc, etc. Now the interface is more complicated. I guess competition with other cloud providers necessitated this? I think it has been hard for DO to shake the image of "the tinkerer's cloud". It always felt like it's for small projects and small teams. However, I love the upfront and transparent pricing, and think it's important to have competion in the cloud space.
