Maintaining a great company culture as a distributed team with virtual reality

4 pointsby josvdwestabout 4 years ago
Hi everyone,
After failing with a previous product and running a remote team, we realized how challenging it is to make distributed teammates feel as included as those working under the same roof. After trying a few solutions we learned that AR and VR are great mediums for getting remote teammates in the same “room”.
Fast forward a few months and now our small startup, Remio, helps remote teams maintain a great culture through team-building activities in VR! We ship a pre-configured headset to each of your teammates and guide you through immersive team-building experiences such as paintball and hide-and-seek. We think of it as RecRoom for business teams. The service is completely hassle-free; you give us the time, date, and number of participants and we take care of all the rest (logistics, scheduling, and shipping).
https://www.remiovr.com/
We’ve received delightful product feedback and notable customers include Robinhood, Pubmatic, Iterable, and Fast. It’s been one hell of a ride and we’re extremely grateful to all the support from our fellow tech hackers and peers for their advice and guidance. A special thanks to Fabio (YC ‘15) for letting us test our very first build on his VR headset.
In terms of vision, we’re building a virtual campus for every company where teammates can work (and bond) using AR and VR glasses.
We’d love to hear what you think of our product (good and bad) and would love it even more to show it to you (or to challenge your team in a paintball tournament). Please reach out to us at founders@remiovr.com even if it’s just a “hello”.
Thanks again everyone, Remio Team!
