Ask HN: Errors and Omissions insurance for a Contract-to-Hire position?

2 pointsby throwaway82931about 4 years ago
Contract-to-hire positions have become fairly common in tech, and I'm currently contemplating one. In the contract, there is an Indemnity clause; my impression is that such clauses are commonplace.
Do contractors in contract-to-hire (CTH) positions need Errors and Omissions ("E&O") insurance to cover potential liability? And since a lawsuit could arise long after the contract ends, does that E&O insurance need to be carried indefinitely?
