Building a B2B customer discovery platform: give me feedback?

1 pointsby ringstarabout 4 years ago
I'm building a b2b customer discovery platform to help early stage companies reduce the time and effort associated with getting in front of potential customers/buyers to get feedback on their ideas/products. It's going to be a 2-sided marketplace where founders can search through people profiles in their ideal customer profile and then pay with cash or very small amounts of equity to schedule an hour over video with an expert to have a customer discovery call. Imagine SuperPeer + Linkedin for b2b customer discovery.
Today this is usually done through warm intros through founder and VC networks or, even worse, through cold emailing. It can take a founder 6 months to have 20-30 customer feedback sessions. I want to reduce that to 1 month. On the other side, experts are incentivized to join for 3 reasons: 1. comp - either cash or micro-equity, you're rewarded for your time. Getting paid $200/hr and doing 5 of those a week = $36k/year. 2. broaden your network and find new angel investing opportunities 3. guide founders on building good software - no one likes shitty software. Shape the software of the future.
People have said "can't i do this through linkedin?" And my response is - "what's been your success through linkedin? 10%, 20% response rate? What if it was 100%?" I've met with about a dozen founders and buyers and have gotten really promising feedback, but I'm always looking for more ideas and thoughts.
