>The ship had been chartered by the French oil company Total, but nobody knew who owned it. The initial owner seemed to be Tevere Shipping of Malta, which had outsourced management to Panship Management of Ravenna, which had chartered it to Selmont International of Nassau, which was represented by Amarship of Lugano. There were twelve layers of shell company between the ship and its ultimate owner, and the French authorities could not penetrate them all
This is giving me flashbacks to how difficult it is to prosecute Internet crime.

In my circle of friends I have an ex-gargantuan ship captain who now enjoys a quiet life fishing. He said to me of the Ever Given: "That mega container vessel is too big and too high and the pilot should take more care passing Suez canal. The vessel is too heavy and it will take time to get it out. They must be very careful not to break the vessel". He's glad they got it out but I won't be surprised if there is another accident wait in that canal.
