All "pretty" and all, but it's unclear what's happening.
It's necessary to underscore that two wrongs don't make a right:
Israel is wrong for the sniper attacks on unarmed civilians including on women and children, clearing holy sites with "nonlethal" force without provocation, and maintaining a disenfranchisement of and sanctions on Palestinians worse than apartheid. Hamas is also wrong by launching indiscriminate rocket attacks. If Hamas renounced violence, it would have the moral superiority to gain greater recognition as Fatah once did.
All this is happening because Israeli right-wingers assassinated Rabin just before the peace deal so they can keep murdering for ideological reasons ("push them into the sea").
One side has to say "enough" and so either the other side keeps going and is pressured to stop, or it stops of its own accord. There is no winning a war of attrition. The US could make Israel behave if it wanted to, but it's like daddy's little girl who can do no wrong.
