So that was from a year and a half ago<p>I wish the linked article publish date showed up on HN.<p>The idea that a carbon tax is ineffective -- possibly because it has to be slow&#x2F;gradual?? -- just seems nonsensical.<p>People are threatening to move to different states constantly when politicians want to institute a 5-cent plastic bag tax.<p>Taxes work.<p>A carbon tax is prob the only realistic way to not mass suicide.<p>Also the part about the &#x27;we want a mostly GOP solution&#x27;. Is that because he&#x27;s a GOP? Or what does that even mean?<p>I do appreciate the urgency message though.

It&#x27;s sad that people still think any of this will happen. We&#x27;re well past the point of no return, we&#x27;ve chosen to just live with it (or die from it). Time to buy a house on a hill or move to Canada.
