Ask HN: Should I consistently follow up HR about my interview decision?

2 pointsby 2bor-2nabout 4 years ago
Hi, I gave a couple of interviews for a frontend post at a company which is fully remote. After giving my final interview I followed up 2 days letter and asked the hiring specialist about their decision. She told me the management is still in the decision making process.
It's been a week now and I haven't heard anything from her again. Is it fine to follow her up again and ask where they are in the hiring process or have they selected someone else over me?

It can take several weeks to go through the process (depending on the size of the bureaucracy and number of applicants - and number of "fake" applicants), but a weekly check-in should be acceptable, especially if they haven't set any expectations as to the time frame.
