I took 3 weeks vacation last December. I typically take a few days off a year and don’t have formal vacations — and this is by choice.
At the end of the three weeks, I was dreading returning to work. Now my compensation is over $500K a year. Financially I’m doing really well, although I haven’t quite hit the number I have in mind for retirement.
If someone is getting paid $40K or minimum wage, I can’t imagine why they would return to work. 3 weeks is all it took for me to go from loving my job to dreading going back to work. If I was home for months, I’d very much would get used to that lifestyle and try whatever side hustle I could to cover my costs.
