Google took a stand and backed out of China many years ago, but privately planned to bend to the CCP will and return with project dragonfly. Some will say we have to give the Chinese state autonomy to make its own rules, but you do not need to help them strengthen their methods of control. It may be Apple’s feet are being held to the fire given their supplier relationships in China and the CCPs absolute power to wipe out their supply chain.<p>Apple (and other companies) should work towards taking the strong stance that Google did in 2010 and exit China when possible. Google had an easier road without a strong Chinese customer base at the time, but Apple should still work to realign its relationships and find&#x2F;build alternate suppliers for its products. Will they lose some cash flow in China? Yes, but they’re also amongst the most valuable companies on earth. If they can’t afford to stand up to the CCP, who can?
