It strikes me that the problem solving skills of a technically minded person can be put to excellent use in confronting people's personal and professional problems.<p>Have you transferred out of a software/tech job into another career which utilizes your problem solving skills but on a more personal level?
Hmm, I'm kind of doing this. After 20-someodd years of programming, I no longer think the big wins are in technology, but rather within, in cultivating mind. So I'm going to gradually help people with meditation. One thing I'd ask you is, have you used your skills to straighten out your own life, i.e., have you dogfooded your methods?
