The "lower pay" BS is hilarious. Granted FAANG companies pay absurd rates so you are fine living anywhere with a "lower pay" from them.<p>Had a SF company try to pull this on me after job interviews. A junior dev in SF would make more than a VP living in Montana...and bonus/stock was based off percentage of salary.
As someone who works in tech for a decidedly not-tech company, I'm curious how this will affect me. I feel like my company has taken a wait and see approach, although they have been quite open in saying that 95% of what we do can be done completely remotely. Having Facebook say that anyone can do remote work will probably force them to do something very similar in order to attract and retain employees.
