&gt; These results might suggest that the first vaccination induces immunogenicity but not sterile immunity.<p>I looked up those terms.<p>Immunogenicity means that it provokes an immune response.<p>Sterile immunity against a virus means that your immune system will stop the virus from replicating in your body.<p>Some vaccines, such as the inactivated polio vaccine, protect against the disease but do not produce sterilizing immunity. If you get the virus it can reproduce in your body but your immune system will be able to limit it enough that you don&#x27;t get sick.
