While it's easy to blame the big multinational here, a lot of people seem to ignore just how corrupted fish labelling actually is across the world.
Australia has strict laws on seafood origin and labelling and yet year after year it's found to be a systemically broken industry.
I love eating seafood but can't bring myself to do it anymore. There's all but a few species left on the planet that are still sustainably harvested and they are rarely popular with consumers. It's a huge tragedy of the commons that's only getting worse, especially in Asia.
