Ask HN: Landing page vs. GitHub repo, where to link in Y Combinator Show?

2 pointsby andreacavagnaalmost 4 years ago
I have an open-source project, and I want to show it on YCombinator, but I'm still unsure of the link to refer to the project. The project is a cross-platform App, used by developers. There are two options:
GitHub Repository: Here, there is the detailed documentation of the project and the code in which the people can look at the project profoundly and then go to the Website to download the last version of the App.
Landing Page: Here, there are the benefits the open-source project grants to the Developers using it, and there is a direct link to download it.
I see a downside for both options: if I link to the Landing Page, it can seem more a "Marketing" strategy than a way to engage our community and share an open-source project I'm working on.
If I refer to the GitHub repository, users need to go to the Website to download the project because releases have been moved to the Website.
Which is the best option?

I prefer the landing page, but after submitting, add a comment explaining that you are the developer, something bout the tech stack, a link to github, and some minimal background information.
[But I'm not sure that this is the best strategy.]
