Seems like this list is still a WIP. At least I hope so, I don't see why my i7-3770 shouldn't be supported.
If only 8th gen+ are supported, looks like there's going to be a lot of e-waste.
<i>sigh</i> This does not "confirm" anything.<p>The source is a list of CPUs that OEMs are allowed to preinstall different versions of Win11 on. There are lists for Win10 and Win8.1 also. Many CPUs are left off those lists, which Win10 and Win8.1 run fine on.<p>Everything's fine here except the Twitter flamebait.
The question is why? What features of newer CPUs are they using that aren't in older processors? Is it the built-in security processors in new CPUs or taking advantage of newer instructions?<p>The current list says even my not very old AMD 1700X won't be supported.
