Ask HN: How do you deal with bus factor for solo projects?

2 pointsby gowthamgts12almost 4 years ago
Title says it all. I'm running a tiny small profitable business and I'm the only one working on it. None of my family is in tech right now. So if I got hit by a bus, the business will take a hit and will die soon.
How do you or will you handle this solo endeavour?

I answered this question once and still like the answer: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=21908802

Insurance. You should start with life insurance to take care of your family. You can also get insurance to cover your inability to work due to injury or anything else, and that policy would be purchased by the business entity instead of you personally.
