Ask HN: What Biden's latest executive order means for open banking?

1 pointsby rmestersalmost 4 years ago
Biden has signed a new executive order Promoting Competition in the American Economy: https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/statements-releases/2021/07/09/fact-sheet-executive-order-on-promoting-competition-in-the-american-economy/
Among other things, the announcement says that it will "make it easier and cheaper to switch banks by requiring banks to allow customers to take their financial transaction data with them to a competitor".
Does it really mean that regulated open banking (like Europe) is coming to US or its still uncertain?
