Hmm. Lava lamps don't seem random to me. They're macroscopic processes. Randomness exist at the brownian movement scale, but macroscopically, the movements and timings must be rather deterministic or at least statistically very constrained.

Just taking a picture of anything static, and deriving a random number from the inherent noise of the photography is not enough?
