Ask HN: How do you find an old post that has been hidden?

6 pointsby psim1almost 4 years ago
This morning there was an excellent article from The Atlantic about China's Uyghur treatment through the eyes of a family that escaped to the United States. However, now due to downvoting, flagging, or other hiding, it's no longer on the front page or the next three pages. It had been a front page article. How can I find this submission that is no longer showing up? NOTE: I am not looking for the article (which is called One By One, My Friends Were Sent to the Camps). I am looking for the submission and comment section.

Usually the best bet is to use something like https://hn.algolia.com and search that way if you're looking for an actual HN post.
Otherwise Google does wonders here.

It'd be great if someone (@dang?) could provide some kind of explanation for why that (in my opinion) excellent and worthwhile article disappeared so quickly from the front page. I'm having a hard time finding a charitable reason why a human would intentionally hide it, and if it was an automod issue, the automodding should probably be tweaked.

OK, I was able to find it through a Google site: search. Is there a more direct (on-site) way?
