I like reading Casey's rants about modern software and modern software developers because, like him, I have to deal not only with garbage software as part of my day job, but also the people who defend it. How anyone can look at today's hardware compared to that of the 90s, and today's software compared to that of the 90s, and not be furious about how bad software has become, is beyond me.<p>I can emulate Windows 95 at full speed in a web browser even on a mediocre 2021 PC. That VM will often have lower latency for user interaction than the native UI. How is it we are not all deeply ashamed of our industry?
