Trade wars are dumb. All wars are dumb. No one wins a trade war or any war for that matter. There are only losers. The winner is just what we call who loses the least. That doesn't mean we should never go to war, but we shouldn't delude ourselves into thinking that wars are wise or necessary. They're usually just unavoidable conflicts that could have been prevented but weren't because of apathy and inaction.
