Ask HN: Looking for a simple Image Database (no overkill DAM)

6 pointsby schafelealmost 4 years ago
I am looking for a simple image database to manage around 10k images and its (custom) metadata. Most of the digital asset management solutions are super complicated, offer workflows, are usually quite expensive, and are not very intuitive.
Any recommendations what I could use. (open source welcome, but SaaS also fine). Thanks a lot!

Something like digiKam? It's a desktop GUI application with custom metadata support to manage personal photo collections. https://www.digikam.org
I don't know if image database and digital asset management are the same as photo management software or something more. digiKam doesn't have auth, security, multi-tenant etc. if that's what you're looking for - it's not a backend server.
