It’s Hard to Have Faith in a State That Can’t Even House Its People

The purpose of the state isn't to house, clothe or feed people. Nor is it to write software, conduct scientific research, or help you to find friends.
The purpose of the state is to protect your right to voluntary pursue these and other rational pursuits necessary for a flourishing life.
If you want more housing, stop making it illegal to build more housing. Our zoning laws, minimum parking requirements, stroads, absurd NIMBY environmental review processes, etc. are the reason American cities are unwalkable places that alienate everyone from everyone else. As a result of our own laws and regulations, only the rich can afford to live in the increasingly scarce parts of cities built before the automobile wrecked urban life.
