Ask HN: Is it SV culture, or tech in general that is entitled?

From my perspective, I do not have the experience of working with startups or &quot;Engaging&quot; tech-focused work. Yet many times do I see an article or blog get posted here that is about substandard work conditions.<p>Employee metrics based on internal commune engagement; activity that is monitored to judge payroll worthiness; Ensuring profitability based on how many times you say &quot;yes.&quot; Is this normal for tech in the 21st century, or just the culture of a select few, yet noticeable, companies?

Can you define what you mean by entitled?<p>I&#x27;m not sure it is entirely clear what you mean by entitled based on the text above.

Comparing New York, the midwest, the south, and SV, it&#x27;s mostly SV that is entitled. NY has this to some extent (finance) too
