Maybe we should build canals instead. It would solve several problems at once: 1) We could lay fiber in them 2) We could direct much needed tourism to neglected areas 3) It would give us an alternate transport option in case a bridge or two declines to cooperate with our no maintenance stance 4) I could have a Widebeam boat and go boating. That last one is the most important one, of course.<p>Most people prefer boating to trains. Using Airboats in shallow canals could probably really hit some wild speeds. Uber Airboats, anyone???
