Yeah yeah, another todo app . But not really.
KissTodo spawned from my dislike of the currently available task management tools. It combines focus and simplicity to offer an improved experience over the other solutions on the market.
Most developers try to create a todo app as their first app and as such does not come from a real need and provides no real value.
I was truly disenchanted with the current task management apps out there and I am truly satisfied with KissTodo (been using it for close to 6 months).
I don't know if KissTodo is for you or not, but I believe it can bring value to those that like flexibility, simplicity, minimalism and nimbleness.
That being said, I'm ready to get roasted
I welcome any comment, discussion, suggestion or insult haha
Cheers!!
(My apologies for reposting, I really wanted to do a proper "Show HN" and also post with a working link )
Nice app! I'm designing a todo app myself.
- I've noticed HN hates demos that require creating a new account. Personally, I don't mind but it would be nice if there were less friction to try it out. (I just use a password manager to generate and store unique passwords for each site. KissTodo was password number 456! That said, I would drop the mandatory digit in the password.) I'm actually creating a system that supports anonymous accounts that can be upgraded to full accounts like on StackOverflow.com. Another option is to have a demo account that is periodically reset. Or magic email signup/login...
- Suggestion: display the keyboard shortcuts with the '?' key (see how it's done in GitHub, YouTube, Gmail...)
- Speaking of shortcuts, some of the default keyboard shortcuts are not possible on PC because there is no COMMAND modifier key. And I didn't notice the shortcuts could be edited. Even after figuring it out, editing the shortcuts was a little awkward. And weird things happen if the shortcuts collide with the browser's shortcuts...
- How do you close details? I guess backspace works, but it would be nice if it were "Toggle Details" so the same shortcut could be used.
I've tried out so many todo apps. Usually I take a peek, then never log in again. I like KissTodo because it's fast and simple. I might try using it a little longer ^^
Speaking of a working link...
I presume it would be this: https://kisstodo.com/
