That sucks omni-directionally.<p>That looks like a nasty place to put down a quick patch and even worse for the real repair job. Most of the &quot;quick fix&quot; efforts will make the full repair harder, too.<p>&quot;big steel plate&quot; is a bit more realistic than spray foam, but think about how that has to be secured. Think about directing traffic around the site while you do it.<p>Just being out on the highway waving a flag is a sphincter workout. Doing the work while trying to ignore traffic is worse.

In the UK they close the motorway (freeways) as soon as it&#x27;s found and reported. Usually traffic police does this.
