It just seems to me that the natural state of many LiIon chemistries (LiCoO2 in particular) is "on fire" and if you treat them <i>very</i> nicely and actively manage them, you can prevent them from getting to that state most of the time.<p>[edit]<p>Read the article more closely and the Bolt batteries are suspected to be NMC, which is apparently more prone to fire than CoO2?
