Taliban’s religious ideology – Deobandi Islam – has roots in colonial India

The author mentions Saudi influence pushing the Deobandi towards Wahhabism, but wouldn't it be more correct to note that the founders of Deobandi were themselves inspired, in part, by Wahhabism?
